Too busy to end blood donation ban?
To the Editors:
Robert Toth wrote a letter to the Plain Dealer about the injustices of the Red Cross not accepting blood donations from gay men. Their policy is five years celibacy. Right on, Robert! It's about time some-
one re-addresses this injustice. I tried to start a campaign five or more years ago. A spokeswoman for the Red Cross agreed with me. However, her response was, "Let me know if you find out anything."
The AIDS Taskforce said something like, "Way to go, Paul!" and that was the end of it.

Letters to various GLBT organizations in the city were unanswered. Everyone must be too busy. I finally decided I was too busy to try to right blatant discrimination against gay men. Hopefully someone will pick up Toth's cause and make an issue.

Cleveland hosted the SynergyFest in April, which saw competitors in volleyball, billiards, flag football and tennis. Demonstrations were also staged in martial arts, wrestling, physique and even ballroom dancing. The next SynergyFest, with an expanded list of sports, is set for August, 2011.
Cologne is a city with a large gay population as well as a rich cultural heritage that should be included on any European travel itinerary. Situated in the middle of Europe, it is easily accessible to many other foreign capitals that can be visited by train or car.
